Berry-Bliss Brunch: Host a Decadent Morning Soirée with Sweet Red Wines

A berry-toned tablescape with florals, candlesticks, and Oliver Winery's Dreamberry and Cosmoberry

Embrace the decadence of sweet red wines this winter and celebrate the everyday. Our berries wines are deep and rich, yet still have a hint of underlying playfulness that is perfect for a luxurious brunch shared with friends. Enjoy romantic tablescape inspiration, delightful treats, and cocktail recipes to curate the perfect Valentine’s soirée—full of berry bliss.

Our inspiration comes from a Galentine’s Day event we participated in last year, hosted by Shelly Ruth with an incredible team of vendors (listed below!). We’re here to bring the essence of that event to you.

The Tablescape

Let’s start with a romantic tablescape. Pull a rich, jewel-toned tablecloth or runner to lay the foundation of the berry aesthetic. Look for décor to bring it to the next level. If you have a long table, opt for a few taller pieces (candlesticks, or bud vases) to sprinkle down the center, or find a single, lower centerpiece for a short or round table. We recommend keeping it low to maintain a connected atmosphere. Pro tip: florals always work. Next find your dining ware—it’s hard to go wrong with a simple white place setting with gold or silver accents in the utensils. Stemware elevates a table, so bring out your best (we’re partial to a coupe glass, but any will do). Then voilà. You have your aesthetic. Bonus: add placecards! Use our template to bring it all together, or create your own!

The Menu

There’s something undeniably lavish about fresh fruit (just happens to be something we know a thing or two about), so lean into it and keep it fresh. Fill your table with berries, blood oranges, cherries, and grapes to snack on throughout the brunch.

  • Start with chia seed pudding or a yogurt parfait, topped with toasted coconut, fruit, and/or granola.
  • Move on to a French toast casserole, Dutch baby pancake, or waffes/croffles for the main course (red velvet French toast is featured in the photo above). Top with fresh fruit, jam, or powdered sugar. Whip up some heavy cream and leave it unsweetened for a lightly rich, balancing topping option.
  • End the brunch with a charcuterie board for grazing. Toss in cured meats, mild cheeses, and nuts for some savory treats, with dried and fresh fruit, honey, and fig jam.
  • Fill your glasses with Dreamberry and Cosmoberry from yours truly and add in some non-alcoholic options too. If cocktails are more your style, find some berry favorites below!

The Mood

We’ve created the perfect playlist that is a culmination of all your favorite nostalgic romcom anthems. Use it, or make your own and let it set the tone. If some guests don’t know each other, consider a non-cheesy icebreaker (it’s hard, we know) or a card deck aimed at bringing people together, such as {THE AND}.

3 Whimsical Sips of Dreamberry

Dreamberry is one half of the delicious duo of berry wines that we released this month. This juicy sweet red has a soft, tropical sweetness from notes of raspberry, lychee, and lime that’s an irresistable add to everyday evenings. While it could pass as a craft-cocktail as-is, we couldn’t help but create some tasty cocktails for you. Find a few of our favorite dreamy sips here!

3 Ways We're Sipping on Cosmoberry

In case you missed it (but you probably didn't), April marked the release of Cosmoberry, one of our newest innovations. This ruby sipper was inspired by a classic Cosmopolitan with flavors of strawberry, cranberry, and blood orange. It's ready-to-enjoy as is, but makes a tasty addition to a cocktail too. Get inspired with a few of the ways we've been pouring this berry delight!
