Creekbend Club | Fall 2024

Sunrise on an early harvest morning at Creekbend Vineyard

The Creekbend Collection is Oliver Winery’s only estate-bottled offering. Creekbend Vineyard is located in the Indiana Uplands AVA. Its hilltop location and limestone bedrock and specific terroir – on the same latitude as California’s Napa Valley – creates excellent conditions for growing interspecific hybrid grape varieties. The varieties we grow have been selected because survive and thrive in our environment, which can have more extreme weather than some of the more famous U.S. grape-growing regions. Our vines are diligently cared for by our vineyard crew to cultivate the highest quality fruit possible. You'll find the literal fruits of their labor in your upcoming Wine Club shipment — from bright Catawba, to tropical Vignoles, or inky and rich Chambourcin.

Oliver Winery's delicious and tropical Creekbend III 2023
Creekbend III 2023
This blend of Vignoles and Vidal Blanc showcases our growing & winemaking abilities and innovation. The Vignoles portion of this wine is fermented in oak barrels and aged on the lees for several months, while Vidal Blanc is fermented in stainless steel, creating a blend with a bright, tropical nose and buttery, supple finish. This wine is the perfect addition to a cozy winter evening—pair with an intimate dinner party or a winter sunset. Serve with chicken, seafood or a creamy pasta dish.
Oliver Winery's floral and citrusy Blanc De Rouge 2023
Blanc De Rouge 2023
Blanc de Rouge is small-batch sparkling wine handmade in the traditional Méthode Champenoise. The wine’s name – translating to “white from red” — pays tribute to the wine’s style If you’ve been a club member for many years, you know that our Creekbend Catawba is a beautiful blush, semi-sweet wine. The crisp, dry palate of this new release will delight! Catawba is Creekbend Vineyard’s largest planting because of its winter-hardy and disease-resistant characteristics. For this wine, we harvested early, with lower residual sugar, to ensure high acidity and the citrus palate common in Champagne wines. Light floral aromas and notes of lemon candy and green apple lead to a vibrant finish with notes of fresh bread and lemon.
Oliver Winery's bright and rich Creekbend Vignoles 2023
Creekbend Vignoles 2023
This Creekbend specialty has bright, rich fruit flavors of citrus, peach, and pineapple. We create an ideal environment for Vignoles grapes by planting them at the highest point in the vineyard, ensuring they get plenty of sun and wind to allow them to reach a spectacular ripeness. Once they’re off the vine, we keep it simple and straightforward, cold fermenting and arresting with a little residual sugar, honoring the flavor of the fruit from vine to glass. Pair with an afternoon spent reading or an evening of self-care.
Oliver Winery's ripe and semi-sweet Catawba 2023
Catawba 2023
It’s hard to resist a sip of our estate-grown Catawba. This varietal is native to our climate. Before prohibition 30,000 acres were planted along the Ohio River Valley. Catawba grapes are full of soft, fruity flavors including strawberry, peach, and melon. If you’ve ever gotten the chance to try a Catawba grape, you’ll know that the flavor in the glass is straight from the vine. Share with friends at a relaxed gathering or game-night. Pair with a charcuterie board with light cheeses, fruits, and a hint of spice.
Oliver Winery's tropical and crisp Vidal Blanc Late Harvest 2022
Vidal Blanc Late Harvest 2022
Grape varietals used for wine are much sweeter than your average table grapes. The longer they’re on the vine, the sweeter they get. We hand-harvested these Vidal grapes on a crisp, late November morning before the sun was up to bring you this exquisite dessert wine. Tropical flavors delight the palate, with hints of pear and honeysuckle woven throughout. Sip around the fireplace while admiring the Christmas tree or with snacks before (or after) a Thanksgiving feast.
Creekbend Chambourcin 2022
Chambourcin 2022
This beautifully rich, dry red is crafted with one of our most abundant Creekbend grape varietals. Chambourcin grapes are a French-American hybrid, perfectly suited for growing in the Indiana highlands. Winter-hardy and rot-resistant, they are well-suited for our climate with cold winters and wet weather. Minimalist winemaking is needed for this dry-red favorite, with rich berry flavor and subtle tannins. Enjoy with a hearty holiday feast — especially red meat and roasted vegetables. Or, sip while relaxing on the couch with some dark chocolate.
